How did you get into BMX?: I got in touch with BMX thanks to my dad. He used to do BMX when he was young, but he had a shoulder injury and he stopped riding. But he’s been always in touch with the wheels world: bikes, motorbikes, cars…I’ve grown up surrounded by wheels haha. When I was 9, we went to see a BMX national race that was taking place at my home track. I told my parents that I liked how it looked and that I wanted to try it. I’ve been riding since then, and fun fact, my dad got a BMX bike to train with me some weeks after I started riding.
What languages do you speak? I speak Spanish, English and French.
What are your top three parks?
- Zolder, Belgium
- Verona, Italy
- Sarrians, France (but I still haven’t had the chance to try the new 8m).
Top three songs to get you pumped? OH, this is a hard question… My top 1 is Titanium (David Guetta & SIA), but anything I can sing to with a good rhythm works actually haha.
Favourite person to ride or train with? I don’t have a fav person, but I have really cool friends all around the world that I wish I could ride with them more often and not just on races!Â
Three people who inspire you and why?
- My mom, she’s a breast cancer survivor, and she has always taught me to see the positives in every situation.
- My dad, he’s always shown me that if I want something, I have to work hard for it and never give up.
- Lydia Valentin, she’s an Olympic Weightlifting medalist, I can relate to her because she’s also a woman doing a not so known sport in Spain, I look up to her
What is a trend in BMX you want to stop seeing? Riding goggles with no glass. Why do you wear the goggles then? I just don’t understand haha.
How do you spend your days off your bike? I love to sleep on my days off. And I like to read and watch some movies with popcorn. So I would say just being lazy 🙂
Favourite shoes to ride in? When ridging flats my FiveTen Freerider Pro.
Most inspirational quote? The only failure it’s not trying. If you don’t try, how are you going to improve? So try, try with all your effort.
Best advice given to you? I’ve been giving a lot of good advice, but I would say that it’s you vs you every day, so try to be a bit better than you were yesterday. Get out of your comfort zone to grow, even with fear. Small steps every day sum up to big things.
Your biggest fear? 8m hill, jumping first SX jumps. I’ve had some crashes related to the 8m, that’s why. We don’t have an SX track in Spain, which means I have to go abroad to train and try to get over that fear.
Your proudest accomplishment? Every time I’ve jumped a new SX jump. That moment of overcoming my fear and building trust in myself just feels amazing and makes me proud of myself.
Three guilty pleasures? I would say …
- White Chocolate
- Pineapple Pizza
- Singing in the Car
Your worst habit? It takes me ages and a million alarms to get out of bed, that’s probably my worst habit.
If you could hire someone to help you in some sort of aspect of your life, what would it be? If I could, I would hire someone to cook for me because it’s not my cup of tea.
What is an amazing experience you had that couldn’t have happened without BMX? For sure travelling the world and getting to know people in every place I visit. I’m grateful for all of it.
Your top three future goals you want to achieve?
- I wanna be the best version of myself that I can be, with my family, riding my bikes, at uni…Reaching the best me.
- Finish university, I’m studying Physiotherapy.
- Improving my BMX level to have a chance to compete in the Olympics one day, it would be a dream.
