X Games Update From Nikita Ducarroz: Day 4, The Last Day

The amazing Nikita Ducarroz, was at the X Games this past weekend in Los Angeles and she was kind enough to send us a day-to-day journal! Nikita and her FDV crew, were given an amazing opportunity from GoodPeople to work with the interactive skatepark there. Below is post 5/5, to view all the entries, click here.

Day 4: August 4th, 2013. Last day.

I went from having one of my worst panic attacks ever the first day, to not ever wanting to leave. I was starting to get used to the routine, and was really enjoying it. We started out the morning by riding over to the famous downtown LA Carwash across the street to get a couple clips with the FDV team. Then we headed to the meeting to start the last day.  Day 4 was only open until 3, so it went by really fast as all the other nights went until 7 and 8.   We did some demos, and then I hung out at the equipment tent.
At 3 the cleanup started, 2 hours of taking down banners, fences, putting equipment away, that type of stuff. Luckily we had skateboards to ride so we carried the equipment back and forth that way which was much faster (and more fun) than walking. Apparently we cleaned up in record time, which I was glad for because it was pretty hot out there. Once we were done, everyone headed to the big X sign down the street and took some group shots. Then, to my disappointment, we all started saying our goodbyes.

GoodPeople was amazing and hooked it up with a board, and I got to take home of the 12” X Games bikes that we had been using, which I grew quite fond of during my time there haha. We then headed back to the lobby to get dinner and I ended up running into Angie Marino again and went to eat with her along with Josh Harrington, Stevie Churchill, Alfredo Mancuso, and Nate Richter. It was a super good ending to a great trip full of fun times with the action sports family, new and old friends, and new connections.

Thank Yous: First off I want to thank Mike Elberts and the whole GoodPeople crew for giving me this amazing opportunity to not only promote my company, but to face personal challenges. I want to thank my Aunt Lynn for making the original connection with GoodPeople, without that introduction, this wouldn’t have happened. My uncle for letting us use his hotel points so we could stay close to the venue. My FDV crew (Jeremy, Tyler, and Robbie) for supporting my dreams and my company and coming along for the ride. I’d like to thank Rob at Alienation, Luke at Zorg Bikes, Joanna at G-Form, Dr. Adam Persky at Fight Dentist, and Devon at Novik Gloves for always keeping me fresh on parts and safety gear and believing in my journey in BMX. And last but not least my parents of course are the only reason I was able to go to LA, and pretty much the reason I can do everything I do today.
