The two most inspirational BMX racers are currently in Australia, and with a packed schedule for 2022. Alise and Sam Willoughby are in town for the unveiling of the newest World-Class UCI BMX racing facility, named after the legend himself, Sam Willoughby. The 6 million-dollar track is South Australia’s only international-standard BMX track and features a 5 and 8-meter start hill, clubroom, parking, with future plans to build a pump track. The newly built SWBMX Facility will also welcome the 2022 AusCycling BMX National rounds, which happened this past weekend.
The filming of, RIDE the film starts today in Adelaide. This documentary-style film will be focusing on the careers of Alise and Sam Willoughby, along with the life-changing accident that impacted both their lives in 2016. “RIDE strives to be more than a sports documentary – Sam and Alise want to help make a difference for those that suffer spinal injuries and live with a disability, shine a light on the physical and mental challenges after traumatic injuries and change the conversation and approach in our communities that enables people with disabilities to gain confidence, fulfill their potential and achieve their dreams. The documentary which is being co-produced by Sam and Alise also aims to empower young people with this story of overcoming hardship and challenges, however big or small they are, and provide inspiration for all people, but especially the next generation.”
Alise and Sam will also be returning to Woodward East in the summer for race camp between Week 2 (June 12-18) & Week 3 (June 19-25). Campers who register before January 31st can save $100 on their week.
