Big news for 14-year-old Alirah Norris! The talented Australian athlete has been invited to join Monster Army, Monster Energy’s prestigious athlete development program, designed to support rising stars aged 13-21 across various action sports, nurturing exceptional talent to represent the Monster Energy brand. We asked Alirah more about what this new partnership means:
I applied for Monster Army as a reserve about 6 months ago, it’s open globally online. The idea is then to keep your profile updated as much as possible with events, photos, podiums etc.
Within the last few months I was super lucky to be invited to Nitro Junior at Woodward in America, Get a dream sponsor with LUX BMX and fly to Shanghai for what was meant to be my first FISE Event as an amateur (rained out). I also made sure to go to every jam possible including the Monster Cash up jam/Lux Jam in Brisbane.
I woke up one morning and saw I received an offer to join Monster Army in my email. I was chosen as a standout prospect in BMX showing my dedication to the sport and I was now entering the ranks as a Sergeant. I am the first female (and only 14) in the Monster Army in Australia so far. The same week as my Monster Army offer, I got the Bloom BMX Rookie Award and I found out I was invited to Simple Session in Estonia in March. It’s been an absolute dream and I still find it hard to believe it’s true. I am more motivated than ever going into 2025 knowing all the hard work I am putting in is paying off and being recognized for doing what I love so much. I am stoked with the support they are giving me and the fact they believe I have what it takes.
