“The Pan American Championship is part of the Venezuelan’s ‘farewell tour’ – as Dher has labeled it – before he retires from the sport, so the event will be one of the last opportunities to see the five-time X Games champion perform. The 39-year-old is yet to confirm an exact date for his retirement.
Dhers will not be the only Olympic medallist on the National Stadium track this weekend, as Paris 2024 men’s champion José ‘Maligno’ Torres will also be present. The Argentine won gold this summer at Place de La Concorde with an almost perfect score (94.82) and will be among the favourites to claim gold in Santiago, adding to the Pan American title he claimed in Lima in 2022.
In the women’s field, keep an eye on Macarena Pérez Grasset. The 27-year-old was born and raised in Santiago, and is a two-time Olympian, and defending champion in the freestyle park event.” – https://olympics.com/en/news/2024-pan-american-bmx-freestyle-championship-preview
