HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE!
NATALYA DIEHM is the first Australian female to win a medal in freestyle BMX. Coming home with bronzes at the Olympics. Pulling a front flip out of her bag of tricks was just the icing of top of two awesome runs. All riders put on an exhilarating performance as it was a nail biting final that’s for sure. Huge congratulations to Nat we are so incredibly proud of her and could see how much it meant to her. Hopefully it has inspired other girls to try freestyle BMX.

LUX BMX held a jam at Fairfield Skatepark in Brisbane in which Evie Simpson, Kayla McCormick, Sophi Carson, Dakota Kljajic, Alirah Norris and Josephine Armstrong all attended and put on a great show. Fantastic to see the women’s scene growing all the time at events.

BMX Centre held a jam out at Boomerang Bike Park. All the girls hit the smaller dirt jumps and did not disappoint! First time dirt riders Olivia Murphy and Kayla McCormick killed it out there. Myself, Sophie Hildebrand, Alirah Norris, Darla Stephens also joined the girls out there shredding the jumps. Overall it was a rad day riding with all the girls.

Kayla Mc Cormick featured in Ross Lavender’s Unscene History museum exhibition as part of the evolution of freestyle BMX in Logan.
Kayla’s helmet, gold medal and jersey from under 15’s Nationals in 2023 were on display.
Myself, Evie Simpson, Kayla Mccormick and Aus OG female rider Ang Dobbie all attended the event which showcased the history and evolution of freestyle BMX in the city of Logan QLD.

Aussie girls nearly taking a clean sweep in Nick Bruces, Bruces BMX Foundation edit contest with Kayla McCormick taking out 3rd place and Alirah Norris bagging that 1st place spot. Amazing to see the Aussie girls taking podiums on world stages.

Rider Spotlight

Alirah Norris has been absolutely killing it. She has been putting in so much work on and off the bike and is always supportive of other riders. All her hard work is paying off as she came away with first place in the Bruce BMX foundation edit contest. So proud of her and can’t wait to see what she has in store for us in the coming months.

Lastly I just wanted to say to all the girls that their hard work, determination and all round supportiveness to other riders does not go unnoticed. So Keep up the good work girls.
