How did you get into BMX? I have short legs so a BMX fit me to go on bike rides with my family, then I rode it to school, riding past the local skatepark (a wooden half pipe) and I started stopping there on my way home and the rest is history!
What languages do you speak? English
Your top three parks?
- Asylum Skatepark
- Churchdown (my local outdoor)
- Unit 23, normally ride it once a year as it’s so far away!
Top three songs on your playlist?
- Fugszi – The Hunna
- Don’t Let Go – The Ghost Club
- Bakar – Good News
Three people who inspire you and why?
My friends who I ride with all the time locally, we always have such a laugh, it’s always fun, trips away and finding new places to ride, no matter how small the skatepark is we always have a good time. Sammy Turner – Best dirt rider in the UK, smashing through the backyard jams no matter how nervous she is, and one of the funniest people I’ve ever met.
What is a trend in BMX you want to stop seeing? Competitiveness – I get that it’s becoming a bigger thing and the competitions are getting bigger, that’s great, but I’m not a big fan of the whole “I’m here to win, I can’t be your friend because I’m here to beat you” attitude.
What do you do when you’re not riding? Riding motorbikes, going away with my pals in our vans, surfing, going to the pub, anything social, anything out and about!
Favourite person to ride or train with? Sammy Turner is hands down 100% my favourite.
Favourite shoes to ride in? Vans, Nike, whatever is closest to the front door when I leave the house haha.
Best advice given to you? “Bitches be tripping!” – Rowan Major
Your biggest fear? Spiders and Ski Lifts.
Your proudest accomplishment? In BMX, stoked to get on the podium a few times during the last couple of years of the Backyard Jams. In life in general, probably where I’ve got to in my career so far!
Your worst habit? Not being able to sit still and have a rest, I need to learn to stop and chill out and not be 100mph at all times.
If you could hire someone to help you in some sort of aspect of your life, what would it be? I’d say to tidy up after myself and do the washing up, but my housemate is pretty good at that, so maybe a gardener to keep my garden looking nice because that’s hard work.
What is a memorable experience you had that couldn’t have happened without BMX? Backyard Jams, NASS. I’ve met so many insane people over the last year or so, had so many insane weekends away at the Backyard Jams, made friends for life and had times I won’t forget.
Your top three future goals you want to achieve? Stay healthy, don’t get sacked, and keep having lots of fun all of the time!
