We’re only days away from the GT Bicycles x Bloom BMX trip in Florida! We’ll be hitting up some of Florida’s famous parks and then Swampfest as our last stop. On our trip will be Rilee Miller, a 19-year-old GT rider with BMX racing roots from Pittsburg, PA. Get to know Rilee today!
Your first memory of BMX? My first memory of BMX would be when my dad (a former BMXer/MX rider) took me to South Park BMX (BMX race track) for the first time, and I instantly fell in love with it.
Your best memory/ experience involving BMX? My best memory/experience with BMX was when I was invited to train at the United States Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California in 2018. I stayed there for a week. I got to room with my race friends and was taught by professional athletes like Tyler Brown, Arielle Martin-Verhaaren, Dani George, Alise Willoughby, etc. Overall I got to ride, travel, meet new people and increased my passion for the sport.
The first thing that comes to mind when you think of Florida? The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Florida is good weather! Back home is constant snow.
Which stop of the GT x Bloom Trip are you looking forward to the most? I am most looking forward to the Vortex Trails spot. I think I’ll feel most at home with it and there’s no better feeling than sending it! Followed by that, I’m excited about Kona skatepark, the layout looks sick!
How nervous are you going to Swampfest? I’d say I’m more excited than nervous going into Swampfest. I’ve been watching previous years’ videos on it and I’m so stoked for all the mayhem that’s gonna go down! Ultimately can’t wait to have a fun time on my bike with my teammates and friends!
