What is your BMX origin story – How did you get into BMX? I always loved bikes and used to ride everywhere from 3 years old. I first discovered BMX by watching CaidenBMX on Youtube.
What languages do you speak? English and I have recently started to learn Spanish.
Your top three parks:
- Graystone Action Sports in Manchester, UK
- Junction 4 Urban Sports Village in Darwen, UK
- Adrenaline Alley in Corby, UK
Top three songs to get you pumped:
- Black Magic by Little Mix
- Firework by Katy Perry
- Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon
Three people who inspire you and why:
- Charlotte Worthington – Staying up late and watching Charlotte win the gold medal in Tokyo was amazing and something that made me want to represent team GB in the future. The way she rides and her attitude is something that inspires me to always try my best.
- Sky Brown – I have grown up watching Sky on Youtube and she always seemed to have the coolest life. I was lucky enough to meet her and watch her skate last year and she was awesome. She always has a huge smile on her face and is showing the world that girls can chase their dreams, win medals and get sponsored in traditionally male-dominated sports.
- All the other girls who ride BMX – I was riding for over 6 months before I saw another girl on a BMX. During this time it was so good to see on Instagram that other young girls around the world were riding BMX and doing awesome tricks.
What is a trend in BMX you want to stop seeing? I am not sure because I love everything about BMX. I love the community and the fact that everyone can hang out together no matter their age, gender or ability. It would definitely be nice to see a few more girls at the skatepark though.
How do you spend your days off your bike? Up until recently I played football (soccer) and did gymnastics but I decided to give them up to focus on BMX. I like to go swimming and paddleboarding as well as hang out with my friends. I also spend lots of time with my family and my crazy dog Wilma.
Favourite person to ride with? Kayley Ashworth – she makes me laugh a whole bunch and encourages me to try new stuff.
Favourite shoes to ride in? I have lots of shoes and I am still trying to find the perfect pair. At the moment I am mainly riding in my black and flame DC High Tops.
Most inspirational quote: “You must try things that may not work, and you must not let anyone define your limits because of where you come from. Your only limit is your soul.” Chef Gusteau, Ratatouille
Best advice given: I always used to be afraid to fall until my BMX. Coach Rob Sidlow said, “BMX gets a lot more exciting when you realize that you are not made of glass”. I try to remember this when I am trying to land a new trick.
Your biggest fear? Drowning.
Your proudest accomplishment? Winning the UK BMX Freestyle National Championships Under 12 Female
Three guilty pleasures:
- Chocolate – I love all things chocolate! Up until I was 6 years old my mum and dad owned a chocolate shop. I would go there most evenings after school and there were always bowls of melted chocolate and lots of new things to try.
- Fish and chips with lots of salt and a can of Dandelion and Burdock.
- Shopping – I love shopping for clothes and shoes.
Your worst habit? Biting my nails.
If you could hire someone to help you in some sort of aspect of your life, what would it be? I would hire my own pilot and private jet. We travel a lot as a family which I love but airports are kinda boring.
Your top three future goals you want to achieve:
- To represent Team GB at an Olympic Games, I will be 16 for Los Angeles 2028.
- To get fitter and stronger so I can compete with the boys.
- To inspire more girls to visit skateparks and take up BMX Freestyle.
