2021 was a new chapter for women’s BMX with the introduction of BMX Freestyle to the Olympics. We saw queens crowned for the first time and new BMX royalties emerge. For the next two weeks, we will be announcing each day the recipients of the remaining Bloom BMX Award categories.
Yesterday, Letícia Moda took Flatlander of the year, today, we are pleased to announce Linda Grabner as your 2021 Bloom BMX Street Rider of the Year.
STREET RIDER OF THE YEAR
Linda Grabner
Austrian Linda Grabner, has had a phenomenal year in BMX, with recently being picked up by Wethepeople and being one of the female riders featured in Girls Unit, the first female group ever to participate in the Bangers Film Festival. Linda continues to put out creative street content, throwing in unexpected variations from quick kinks to linking quick lines that require another watch. She’s got four-piece bars and four pegs, it doesn’t get more street than Linda (We’ll give her a pass on the plastics). Here are some additional words from her peers.
“Rain, wind or snow, Linda seems to be out there every day pushing herself and enjoying BMX to the fullest. We’re huge fans of Linda and the energy she brings to BMX. Stoked to see her win Street Rider Of The Year and excited to see plenty more from her in 2022. Congrats Linda!” – Dave Paterson (Wethepeople)
“Linda has been a rider whom I have loved to watch this year. Not only has she got the moves but she also puts together good lines! Her dedication and commitment to put together all of the tricks in a whole line is what I really appreciate. It’s so awesome to see and I’ll continue to get excited to see what she does next. Her riding is progress for us all! ?? Congrats Linda!” – Nina Buitrago (OG)
“I’m so happy for Linda, she has been killing it and watching her ride it’s a big motivation to hit the streets” – Maca Perez Grasset (Olympian)
Tomorrow we will announce the 2021 Bloom BMX Trail Rider of the year.
