The first couple of days of Bloom Week at Woodward East are in the books with plenty more fun to come. For the first day, Angie, Maca and myself met up with the ladies and gave away some goodie bags from Vans and Cult. On the second day, the weather held off and we had The Cage blocked off just for the girls. We got to see a lot of the young girls drop in for the first time, try new lines and conquer their fears. We even had Olympian BMX Racer Brooke Craine drop in, and wifey Rachel Jones also made progress in Lot 8 with a back flip into foam thanks to Coach Nyquist.
For our first year and considering we’re living in a pandemic, we had a phenomenal turnout with apparently the most female freestyle riders ever registered. Thank you Woodward for not only showing interest in growing women’s BMX but working with The Bloom to create lifelong memories for the future generation of BMX.
Make sure you’re following The Bloom BMX, Woodward Camp and Woodward BMX on instagram to see all the fun, because there is plenty more to come.
